HOLIDAY HOME AND VILLA RENTALS IN KEFALONIA SINCE 2008
Richard first arrived in Greece in 2001, joining a flotilla sailing company following his completion of a traditional and modern boat building apprenticeship. Quickly transitioning to a role as a flotilla skipper, he explored the Ionian Islands, including the charming fishing port of Fiskardo. Falling in love with the Venetian village and its rich local history, Richard eagerly embraced the opportunity to settle there permanently as the resort manager when the flotilla company established a new base in the harbor.
Teaming up with his wife Sarah, they acquired land and constructed their own home with a picturesque view of the ever-changing Ionian Sea. Now, with a growing family, Richard, with a friend, they identified an unmet need in the villa management market. This led to the creation of Ionian Property Services, initially managing just one villa but now boasting a portfolio of over thirty. Richard and IPS have continued to thrive.
Despite the passing years, Richard remains captivated by the natural beauty of the region, appreciating the breathtaking views, the dynamic Ionian Sea, the lively atmosphere of Fiskardo in August, and the warm hospitality of the Kefalonians. Above all, he cherishes the mysterious energy of the place, drawing visitors back to the island year after year.
Will is based in the UK and oversees the rental side of the business. He and Richard first met at school and one visit to Kefalonia back in 2006 was all it took to get him hooked on the island. Will spent twelve years working in design agencies before founding PocknellBaird, a brand, strategy and design business. Will has a deep love for motorcycles as well as Kefalonia and hopes one day to be able to blend the two.
Fern is UK based and responsible for the day-to-day management of the rental side of the business and works alongside Will on marketing and development. She fell in love with Kefalonia years ago and has been enjoying it's rich offerings ever since.
Vasilis was born on the Peloponesse into a farming family. After school he studied to be an electrician and his first job was working for CERN on the LHC Project in Switzerland. There he met another Greek of about the same age whose home was in Kefalonia. He was easily persuaded to head for Kefalonia to live and IPS have been very lucky in finding him. He has now been with IPS for 4 seasons and has fallen in love with the Island. His biggest complaint is that working here means you don't get enough time to enjoy the place! He loves the sunsets, landscapes, seas and most of all the amazingly clear starry nights - especially the full moon rising above Ithaca.
