Villa Vhari | Sleeps up to 6-8 | from £3,150.00 per week
Villa Vhari is situated in Antipata, a lovely village 3km from Fiskardo. The villa sits atop a slight rise on a road down to Dafnoudi Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Kefalonia. The villa is in a very quiet, peaceful area, and in the evenings goat bells can be heard as goats forage below on their way through the forest. The villa sits in an acre of grounds, which include a lovely cooling pool, a pergola for shade, and flowers and fruit trees. There is plenty of room around the pool to soak in the sun or to sit reading under the pergola. The villa has electric gates, keeping the guests both private and secure.
This traditional 3-level stone house - built in 2008 by the previous Greek owner - has been finished to very high specifications and is decorated tastefully in neutral colours throughout. The first floor comprises the main open plan living area with sitting room and kitchen. Doors open out on to a dining area with a table seating 8 comfortably. Here one can enjoy wonderful meals looking out over the forest to the sea beyond, on those perfect warm summer evenings. There are also 2 double bedrooms and a shared bathroom on the first floor. One room has spectacular views, and both have doors leading out to a 'wrap around' terrace joining the outdoor dining area.
On the second floor the Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and a large terrace with 2 stone benches. Sitting here with a glass of wine in the early evening, looking out towards Lefkada and the mountains of Greece beyond, is heavenly!
On the ground floor a new bedroom and large ensuite bathroom have been recently built. This is a cool, private room, with direct access to the pool area and with its own entrance. Next to it is a separate 'storage' room, with cupboards and drawers for guests to use and plenty of space for suitcases. Please note there is an extra fee per night to use the ground floor bedroom, see prices below.
Surrounded by pine, olive and cypress forest, the villa has far reaching views to Ithaca, Lefkada and beyond to Meganisi and the mainland. Antipata is home to a traditional Greek restaurant and a small shop, very conveniently situated only a 5 minute walk away, and walking to the beach is a lovely amble down an old country road then forest, only 20 minutes from the villa.

Beaches we like to visit
Within 5 minutes drive
Dafnoudi beach with its crystal clear water is a 20 minute walk from the villa. We recommend. you take food and water as there are no facilities at the beach.
Within 15 minutes drive
Foki beach is a beach just beyond Fiskardo. The beach is in a protected bay with a shady olive grove and a cave to swim to and explore as well as a well-priced taverna.
Agia Jerusalem beach is a large pebble beach with crystal clear water. There is good snorkelling here, particularly further out from the bay and in high season sun-beds are available for hire. The taverna 'Odysseus' is superb and serves some of the best food we have had on Kefalonia.
Alaties beach is small but perfectly formed. There’s good parking available and a beach bar serving food all day and into the evening. Arrive in time to watch the sun go down with a cocktail in hand.
Emblissi beach just outside Fiskardo is easily accessible, has plenty of parking, great swimming, wonderful views across to Lefkas and Meganisi.
Kimilia beach is a hidden gem accessible only by boat or by foot by following a winding forest path. We recommend you take food and drink as there are no facilities at the beach.
